Away for a Week

We’re heading out to the farm property right now. I’ll not be posting for a week but will try to share a picture a day.

I’ve decided to go with a small net book for $300 at our Costco. I’ll pick one up when we return next week and will be back online. I found out the iPad isn’t for writing, so threw that idea out.

We wrapped up the crashed car scenario this morning. Overall lost $7000 but what are you gonna do?

We’re taking the insurance money (pittance really) and going with son to buy a car for him. He has to make monthly payments to us-so I guess Jeff and I are finally growing up and making him be an adult. Funny how losing a butt load of money will finally open your eyes.

Son has decided to go back to WA state for the summer and to look for work. He’s also registered for fall quarter at UNM so has a foot in both camps.

If he stays in WA he’ll have to wait and work a year to re-obtain residency so he can finish his 1-1/2 years left on his BA. Which is all good. He’d be much happier.

We’re moving on. He needs to make his own decisions and we’ll make ours. We feels strangely freed. We’re beginning to work hard on moving toward renting out or selling our Abq house so we can ALL be back our on our own. As it should be. Drama time is over.

On a final note, I did just fine without a scale. No gain. Now that I’m home with a scale, I hate it. I’m weighing myself all the time. I much prefer no scale.

You could always throw the scale away, or donate it.
When I have too much junk food in my house, and I finally get to the point of frustration that it’s there, I don’t feel an ounce of guilt to throw it all away. If it’ll make my family and myself less healthy, it can’t be a bad thing to get rid of.

    • I totally get what you’re saying, Sarah. I actually AM thinking of throwing the scale away and just stepping on someone’s scale when I’m curious. I’m not ready to do that yet, but the fact that I’m almost ready to is huge. And I completely agree with you about the bad foods. Throw them out without a shred of guilt!

We have had to do some “growing” with our oldest son too. I can totally relate.

Glad to see you doing so well!
