One mile straight!!! Cue the parade and the band!

Oh. My. Goodness. I reached one of my goals, a HUGELY important one: on my 3.3 mile loop, I ran 1 full mile without stopping and at a fairly decent pace! Wow, what a workout. Wow. So, this is “exercise tired”…whew! Seriously, I’m so happy, it’s what I’ve wanted for at least 6 years since I stopped running and gained tons of weight. I’m making my way back.

I intend to stay here, at this level, for the next 4 weeks: Walk about a mile, run a mile, walk a little more than a mile. I don’t care about my pace, either the walking OR the running, at this point.

It was so cold and windy out there on my dirt roads. I went out just in time because the wind is really howling now! This is me, wearing my happy, 1 mile smile:

Great job on the mile nonstop! I still remember mine after I got back into running about 5 years ago. They will keep getting better.
    Happy running,
    Rundad

Thanks for visiting my blog. I thought I’d check yours out and I’m glad I did! You can be another inspiration to me as well. 🙂

Congratulations on reaching your nonstop mile goal. That is great! I have a hard time with running. I don’t think I’m doing right, if that makes sense. I think I shuffle my feet rather than taking strides or lifting my knees much. Do you lift your knees when you run. Does your heel land first or the top of your foot (below the toes)?

I’d really like to set a running goal, but it just never seems to work.
